How often do you thank people?

How did you feel when someone thanked you?

People do things for each other its part of being human and sometimes we go through life on automatic pilot expecting things to be done for us.

It starts off when our parents work to clothe, feed and house us for all those years before we finally leave home.

We expected it and as our brains developed we realised they made sacrifices on our behalf to do the best they could us.

Eventually at some time we realised our parents had gone without so we could have things and we then learnt about appreciating what they had done for us.

Do we expect too much appreciation?

Sometimes yes because on occasions it’s nice to do a good deed without making an obligation for appreciation to be made.

It’s the doing and giving which is important.

Accolades are earned.

Parents make sacrifices for their children with unconditional love.

A great example of giving and not expecting appreciation is Christmas, just look at how many presents Santa Clause gives away and what does he expect?

Only that you have been good.

Appreciation when over done or demanded arouses a hollow feeling but when appreciation is given at the right time and for all the right reasons it is greatly appreciated.
