Boredom

Is this what happens when we have no purpose?

How can we keep busy doing useful things? We have to keep ourselves busy as when we have nothing to do we get bored.

So how does it happen?

Surely there is always something to do?

Perhaps it’s when we have no interest in what’s going on around us we develop a lack of attention or when we have to do something when our minds are set on doing something else which would be more enjoyable.

Boredom can take over when we are doing tedious, repetitive tasks and our brains shut down to such an extent that we can even fall asleep.

Or worse still we become frustrated and aggressive.

We owe it to ourselves to create enough stimuli ensuring we are using our brains or our mental capacities will shrink.

Keeping up challenges which are sufficient enough as to not to be predictable will help minimising boredom.

Or as I was told by one of my earlier bosses, if the work you are doing does not interest you, get interested in what you doing, or get out.

When it’s put like that you cannot get bored again.
