Compassion

Do You Feel Sorry For Someone?

Can being compassionate be a good thing?

Being human comes with emotions and these drive our thinking influencing us in so many ways we have to be able to recognise which thoughts we can control.

Compassion is an emotion which feels for others, different from happy and sad which are personal feelings.

Compassion is a feeling for someone else, usually someone else who is not having life going too well at that time.

Compassion is recognising someone is having a bad time and we feel sorry for them.

We usually feel a bit guilty at that time as our circumstances are better than theirs at that time.

But what practical steps can we take to come to terms with compassion?

The hand on the shoulder works as we are drawn to touch them and give out some of our energy.

Sometimes that’s not socially acceptable and just sitting quietly and listening without judgement can be a comfort.

There is only so much compassion that can be given as it can be used as a crutch.

The flow of energy can become a drain as it is hard to regenerate more and more energy to satisfy this emotion.

Each individual must eventually come to terms with their own issues and the compassion energy must be considered as a jump start to assist in the healing process.
